Sinha to hold pre-Budget ministerial meets from Jan 11
The finance ministry will start the pre-Budget consultation with various ministries from January 11, after having gathered opinions from different sectors of the economy.
Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha's Budget team will start the pre-Budget discussion with the steel ministry on January 11, official sources said on Thursday.
On January 14, Sinha's team will meet the agriculture and divestment ministries and their counterparts in railways and information technology ministries on January 15.
Sinha will meet power, information and broadcasting, and rural development ministries on January 16.
On January 17, Sinha is slated to meet communication, HRD and fertiliser ministries.
Tourism, programme implementation and consumer affairs ministries will hold pre-Budget discussions on January 19 while highways, shipping and health ministries will meet Sinha on January 21.
The pre-Budget discussions will conclude after Sinha's discussion with textiles ministry on January 22.
Sinha completed the series of pre-Budget meetings with agriculturists, SSI, industrialists, FIs and banks, economists, trade unions, consumer activists, and science and technology experts.
